This article reviews findings from Canada’s first national wound care research priority-setting exercise. Through surveys and expert consensus, researchers identified 23 priorities, with the highest rankings focused on wound epidemiology, economic burden, prevention strategies and national data systems. The findings highlight the need for stronger evidence in health policy, education and equity rather than solely product-focused research. These priorities provide a roadmap for improving wound care outcomes and reducing inequities across Canada.
