Chronic wounds cost the Canadian health-care system approximately $12 billion per year and significantly impact activities of daily living (ADLs). This can be especially burdensome for those living in underserved communities, where access to care is limited. The use of digital tools and imaging technology has been previously applied to the wound care space. A home health region in Ontario, Canada implemented a digital wound management solution (DWMS) inter-professional remote wound care, which included the ability for patients to collect images.
