Foot Care Matters: A Cautionary Tale

Abstract: This article shares the personal story of a family who ultimately lost a loved one through an infection that spread to the bone via a potentially avoidable pressure sore on his heel. It briefly documents the case and presents a call for vigilance and training on pressure sores and skin care across the health-care team.
